6.21.2013// Getting Adjusted
Today was by far the best day I’ve had this past week. I thought that was yesterday but I was wrong, it was today:)

We all took part in Starbucks Friday ((that’s probably going to be a tradition too)) and then headed off to focus study. Journalism want terrible today, we started off discussing the movie “Good Night, and Good Luck” and then talked about Communism. We then watched an interview with Johnny Depp which was really funny and then paired up with groups to prep for our own interviews. We chatted and turns out, the guy in our group attended GSP and debate tournaments with some of my best friends! Such a coincidence!

Next was Are You What You Eat and I thought the class was going to be a bore like last time but I was surprised by how fun it was! We read some more Pollan then paired up to talk about our projects. My partner, Meg, and I are working on the question, “Does our diet limit us?” And our idea is to examine a bunch of different ways of eating (omnivore/vegetarian/vegan/etc.) and look and see if all the bodies’ nutritional requirements are being met. Then, we had half an hour so we tried the human knot again! Lets just say, I ended up in a position I wouldn’t mind to be in again;) And this time, we actually unraveled the knot!

After dinner was our first showcase which is pretty much like a talent show. There were some acts like Pitch Perfect Cup Stacking that were ok, but the two best acts were this girl doing an AMAZING acoustic version of “The Call” on guitar and this guy who played my FAVORITE song by Rodrigo y Gabriela, “Tamacún”, on guitar. They both got standing ovations. Plus, you can’t go wrong when a guy stands up and reads haikus to 357 scholars! :)

As we were about to leave, all the RA’s suddenly got on stage, started dancing to “Thrift Shop” and announced that we would be having our first themed dance! The theme was thrift shop and we had an hour to get ready. We scurried and did the best we could! The last picture is all four of us (Hannah, me, Bria, Jessica) the dance over all was really exciting and fun because it reminded me of Bulgarian New Years parties which I love. Although the only let down was that it was so crowded that I didn’t get to dance with some people I would have enjoyed to. There’s always next Friday! Now, we all get to sleep in since there’s no class tomorrow :)

P.S. Bria and I thought it was cool we matched in reverse today! 5 days rooming and we’ve already adopted each others’ habits. That is also the quiet and relaxing place we read and hang out.

((all the roommates have crashed already. they’re just not used to partying Bulgarian style where the party starts at 8pm and doesn’t end till 5am :)))
