((Thanks to Bria, this has now become tradition))
Lusi probably had her best day here by far. Even though General
Studies dragged on for Lusi, she really enjoyed breakfast where she and
get roommates made new friends! In class, Lusi watched a documentary
which was in a mixture of French/German/Polish with blurry subtitles
underneath. But, Lusi thoroughly enjoyed a book by Michael Pollan they
started reading called Food Rules. After reading his Omnivore’s Dilemma,
Lusi expects great things from Pollan :)
Third Person Thursday got old by lunch so we took a hiatus…until next
Thursday :P During our long break, the roommates and I played board
games and found the best chill spot where we hung out for a good hour
just reading/writing.
After dinner was seminar, and I have to say that out of everything,
that is the class I enjoy the most. We played The Human Knot and more
bonding games, we’re going to participate in the Olympics Sunday, and we
get journals to write in and Luke, the RA, responds back to us. All in
all, it’s the most interesting of all the classes! Plus, as I was
walking out headed to their event called Between a Tweet and a Blog
(motivational speeches from our teachers) I got complimented on my
awesome cheese bag from the coolest RA (she had flaming red hair and the
best wardrobe) and we got to talking and she goes to UK, knew where I
had gotten by bag, and we gossiped all the way to the auditorium. I even
found out that she’s the one on the cover of UK’s brochure!
Lastly, before check-in at 10:30, all of us headed downstairs to play
games and we learned the card game Spuds and then went outside to play
Symbols and Sailors and Ships. My favorite would have to be Sailors and
Ships which is basically a MUCH more intense version of Simon Says.
Pretty much, today was so busy but so fun that I forgot about home.
If that’s a good thing or a bad thing, I haven’t yet figured out.
