making // awkward eye contact with the cars next to me now that its warm enough to drive with the windows down and i listen to my music obnoxiously loud. just nod and keep driving.
cooking // summer pasta. it's not too early for that is it.
drinking // berry smoothies like its no bodies business. just try and stop me. i dare you, punk.

watching // this vine - it only gets better the more times you watch it! oh and this bad lip reading youtube video of twilights eclipse, also quality entertainment.
looking // gooooooddddd. my closet is my most prized possession.
playing // dead man on the trampoline with the girls i babysit pretty much every day now that its warm.

sewing // ha. as if anyone's got time for sewing right now.
wishing // that ap tests would just be over with.
enjoying // the fact that the month ager ap tests and before school lets out will be absolutely amazing because nobody is going to do anything and it will be glorious.
liking // this and that, and too many other things in between.
wondering // how long i can keep up this whole i-have-yet-to-go-to-a-full-week-of-school-this-semester charade. i'm hoping till the end of the year.
loving // how my cat always sleeps at my feet no matter what.
hoping // she learns not to sleep literally ~on~ my feet and then give me dirty looks when i move my foot because it's asleep. it's your fault, cat.
marveling // at the fact that i'm more tired when i get a full nights sleep, yet i'm perfectly fine going off of 3-4 hours (which has sadly become too much of a norm around here)
needing // some new sunglasses, because i sat on my old pair and they snapped. it's sad that i lost my previous two pairs that very same way whoops.
smelling // fresh cut grass.
waiting // for sophia to give me my present that she's been talking about for forever!!
wearing // (still) boots. no sandals for me yet.
following // bloggers from lexington and getting excited when they post about things and places i know.
noticing // that somethings don't matter as much as they used to, and realize what a relief that is.
knowing // that my family will be here from bulgaria in a month!!
thinking // how life gets so stressful all of a sudden? or is it always stressful and we just ignore it.
bookmarking // cool dorm die's because, let's be honest, that's what i'm most excited about for college
opening // snail mail (because i'm a geek like that ok)
giggling // at life, really. because if you can't giggle at that then what else is there?
feeling // nervous about the prospect of college.
learning // that apparently the weather can affect my mood. hmm....

making // the most of my last couple months, taking advantage of everything lexington has to offer.
cooking // homemade pizza with all the fix ins'.
drinking // fruity mocktails and celebrating friend's 18th birthdays.
reading // the most random assortment of books alternating from cheesy romance novels to russell brand's autobiography to the classics like raisin in the sun.
watching // Casablanca on retro thursday's at the theatre by my house - now that's what i call a #throwbackthursday.
wanting // change and new beginnings, but fearing it at the same time.
looking // for some downtime - between school, and work, and chores, and all the other countless things i do it's hard to find sometime to be by myself and just relax.
playing //  jolene by dolly parton on repeat - i have no idea where this sudden country music kick is coming from (because it's only valid for that one song) but it seems like its here to stay.
wasting // (for the first time it seems) nothing - i even find myself using tea bags twice (though that could just be out of laziness who knows)

liking // spontaneous get-togethers that are planned 20 minutes beforehand yet go off without a hitch.

loving // the zumba classes my friend callie and i have been going to every week. i've finally found the exercise for me - just the right mixture of boogie-ing and cardio = one heckuva good time.
hoping // that my friend Lukas and I will get to go to this concert we really want to go to this summer.
marveling // at how many rings i can fit on my fingers before it starts getting weird, or i turn into phoebe from f.r.i.e.n.d.s.
needing // constant amusement or occupation of some sort. even while watching something, my hands always need to be busy with something. guess that explains why i average about a scarf a week haha.
smelling // (more likely i imagine i smell) fresh cut grass ion anticipation for warmer days.
waiting // with anticipation for our upcoming trip to florida and nyc! what better way to wrap up the school year than with trips with friends.
wearing // woolonwoolonwool. when will this winter leave us?!
following // people on instagram who live in exotic places like beaches in guam and feeling inane amounts of jealousy at the fabulous lives they lead.
noticing // how there never seem to be enough hours in the day for everything i want to do.
knowing // that i will always have people behind me that i can trust, that i can confide in, and that will always support. i can only hope to be worthy of their friendship.
thinking // that wow, time really isn't holding back.
bookmarking // recipes filled with summer vegetables from the farmer's market i can't wait to try out.
opening // and never closing all of my apps to the point where it drains all my phone battery. oops.
giggling // at all the buzzfeed quizzes i do when i'm bored that tell me my celebrity soulmate is robert pattinson, that my personality is akin to leo di caprio's aka jack's in Titanic, and that i was macbeth in a previous life. sounds good to me i'll take it.
feeling // loved knowing that my family is flying out from bulgaria in a couple months to be here for my graduation.
learning // that it's no use to hold grudges.

2.02.2014// Experience #9 - Taking Stock // 02
So remember when I did the first one of these lists a month or so back? And I debated whether or not I should make this a monthly series? Well folks, I've decided to roll with the idea. With January coming to a close, or any month for that matter, I feel like it's important to take a step back a re-evaluate all that has happened in the time span of four short weeks. To take a second and consider what you're feeling/thinking/experiencing. With that in mind, say goodbye to January and hello to February.

making // time for more things and people this year, instead of becoming overwhelmed by work and school.
cooking // and taste tasting cakes for sweet Annie's birthday next week. hopefully she doesn't read this...shhh it's supposed to be a secret.
drinking // coffee. what else haha? i tried to wean myself off of it but that was hopeless. especially since i keep buying new coffee mugs from IKEA each time we go.
reading // the joy luck club by amy tan and finding myself relating to the stories of the chinese immigrant's daughters, nodding along and agreeing with how they view their culture in relation to the american one in which they live. a great read.
watching // this month, i'm ashamed to say it's 'dawson's creek' i know i know, it's the cheesiest of the cheesy teen shows but i think it's that cheesiness that got me addicted in the first place. except, i don't gush over dawson like all the other girls, its pacey i would choose.
wanting // that dream new york apartment with the exposed brick walls, or that perfect victorian house with the bay windows and the wrap around porch, neither of which i will ever have.
looking // forward to what this year will bring.
playing // the neighborhood's new album, 'i love you', on repeat.
wasting // my paycheck on books and coffee the second i get it. oops.
sewing // a botchy apron because i cook ~so~ often. that makes sense, right?maybe my apron will inspire me to spend more time in the kitchen and actually learn to cook something besides pasta.
wishing //that summer would just get here already.
enjoying //all these random snow days we've had recently, even if they have pushed graduation into june by now.
liking //waking up earlier than everyone else and having a little bit of quiet time in the morning.
wondering // how many more boots i can buy before i get cut off.
loving // the satisfaction you get after completing something particularly difficult or long, or just something that you've been putting off.
hoping // that second semester of school is easy and i don't have a panic attack as things start to wind down, and decisions about college have to be made, and ap tests and finals have to be taken.
marveling // at my ability to disregard rules i set for myself such as 'do not stay up past midnight tonight, lus' and then staying up until 2-3am reading people's blogs. and this happened three nights in a row. self-control at its finest - no wonder i'm always tired haha.
needing // to be back in mexico.
smelling // the cold. is that a thing, does cold even have a smell? for my sake, and for the sake of this post let's pretend it does.
waiting // for summer, for graduation, and for all the fun adventures I plan to have in the meantime.
wearing // the standard uniform of skinny jeans, ankle boots, and neutral sweaters, topped off with a scarf and a bag twice the size of my torso slung over my shoulder. no jacket, i have a thing against jackets - just ask anyone and they'll confirm.
following // too many tv shows that come off of hiatus after december that i can't keep up.
noticing // my relentless restlessness and my need to constantly keep busy or be on the move.i've got an itch to travel and explore that is dying to get scratched. i constantly need new scenery.
knowing // that i need an endless supply of money to do all i want to do. but also knowing that will never happen. i guess what i'm trying to say is, i know there always comes a time for compromise.
thinking // how life would be so much easier if people knew what we were thinking, and vice versa.
bookmarking // all the ikea furniture i will one day buy and decorate my own place with.
opening // my first college acceptances *fist-pumps triumphantly*
giggling // with the little girl i babysit as we lay on the couch and watch funny cat videos on youtube.
feeling // scared, but excited, but apprehensive, but ready - for so many reasons.
learning // that everything comes in due time.

12.08.2013// Taking Stock // 01

This is what Sundays were made for. Breakfasts in comfy and warm beds. Every weekend, I tell myself I am going to be productive...it never happens. But then again, as I lay in bed today (for a long time, no judging allowed) I realized that in the long run, it helps to take rest days (but in my case, I probably take them more often than I should! Oops!)

As I was relaxing today, I read a post from one of my favorite bloggers, Sydney at The Daybook, where she 'took stock' of her life and surroundings at the moment. So here's my take on it!

making // jewelry, as of lately. And scarfs because a person can never have enough scarves.
cooking // banana bread and roasting chestnuts. That's holiday food (sort of) right?
drinking // kombucha by the bottle, thanks to my friend. I'm now addicted, I hope you're happy. There go all my savings.
reading // The Importance of Being Earnest and laughing so hard tears well up in my eyes.
watching // The Mindy Project, constantly. I went through season 1 in one week and I have no shame.
wanting // to boogie. The urge I have to shake it has been so overwhelming. I just love to dance.
looking // forward to our first snow day, because those are the best.
playing // the new Arctic Monkey's album on repeat. Favorite songs: Do I Wanna Know? and Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?
wasting // time, but then again what's new!
sewing // sadly, nothing.
wishing // that winter break would just hurry up and get here already.
enjoying // the smell our new coffee machine makes as it grinds the coffee beans each morning.
liking // knowing that our annual New Year's party is coming up because I wait for those every. single.  year.
wondering // what it's like to be completely carefree for once...hmmm, let's hope I find out.
loving // heart-to-heart's with old friends.
hoping // that I can nail the Christmas gifts this year...I always like giving gifts more than I do receiving them. Not that I don't enjoy presents, don't get me wrong hehe, but there's something about getting someone the perfect present that makes their entire face light up.
marveling // at my ability to be such an immense klutz. Seriously, it's like stairs hate me.
needing // everything, but nothing at all at the same time.
smelling // lavender, thanks to my candle that stays faithfully on my nightstand.
waiting // patiently. Only time will tell what's in store.
wearing // grey and stripes, constantly and forever. 2/3 of my closet is neutrals and it's kind of embarrassing.
following // my heart instead of my head, almost always.
noticing // the way the freezing rain is coating all the trees outside of my bedroom window and pretending I'm in a winter wonderland.
knowing // that I should slow down, take a breath, and not overthink things as much I do.
thinking // and stressing about college; where to apply, where to go, where I would actually go if I were accepted.
bookmarking // far too many unrealistic things for my Christmas list.
opening // new packets of hummus. Seriously, it's kind of like Christmas morning whenever I get to.
giggling // over silly things, like all the snapchats I've been receiving today, or the funny youtube videos I've been watching instead of studying.
feeling // excited about Dad coming home after two months tomorrow. I can't even begin to explain my excitement.
