7.08.2013// A Close Call
Today was just chalk-full of entertainment. I almost killed my target! Man, he didn’t even see me coming until some girl behind me yelled “watch out!” and he turned around and blocked it with his arm -.- We started off with community meeting which always gets a laugh. Next we headed off to Journalism where Lynn had me read my article on roommates because she thought it was well written:) Afterwards, she took us to guest speaker Billy Reed, a sports journalist, who was actually more interesting than I thought he would be. He actually worked closely with Muhammad Ali!

In Seminar, we talked about relationships (platonic and dating) and healthy/unhealthy relationships. We also talked about values and expectations in relationships. One girl had the same exact opinions about dating as me so that made me feel better. Our activity for seminar was to write a letter to someone who has had an impact on our lives. What’s ironic was last night the roommates and I were talking about relationships and about a mistake I made last year. So I was thinking about that and I’ve been trying to find a way to apologize but I never could…so I wrote a letter to the person. I don’t know if I’m going to send it yet…but at least my apology is documented somewhere!

Happy 8th of July! Since it rained on the actual Independence Day, we had our parade today! We made a “Crossing the Delaware” and had people dress up as the Statue of Liberty and George Washington and it was great!

After that came the Pi (as in mathematical sign) race which was 3.14 km around campus after which the first 30 people to make it back get a whipped cream pie to chuck at any person that came after them. Luckily I didn’t get hit and I made it back in under 20 minutes! Considering I’ve never run, that felt like a personal accomplishment :)
Pi Race ready! A pre-run picture and then a post run picture. You can tell we were wiped…and then there’s Jessica with pie on her face…

Finally, to celebrate our last Hall Buddy night with Jason, he took us to an empty classroom where he fed us ice cream came and we watched The Lizzie McGuire Movie! Best. Hall. Buddy. Ever.

Hey now, hey now, this is what dreams are made of… (:
