The entirety of my day was spent not in Morehead today…whether it was worth it is still up for grabs! We travelled to Louisville (2.5 hours of travel) to reach our destination which was Louisville’s local news station. There we got the grand tour, got to look at the master control, and we even got to see a live airing of the news! The ironic part was that we got to try out the green screen for the weather but today was Green Day so a part of us were wearing green and thus we disappeared on screen haha :) We even got to meet TV anchors Kelsey Starks and Andy Treinen who talked about their education and careers leading up to their current jobs. Man, they have to be in the office at 3am! But they do get to leave at 12 in the afternoon so that’s a nice bonus.

Afterwards, we hung out in Louisville and went to Fourth Street Live, a neat place where they hold concerts and there are a bunch of restaurants. After lunch, we once again packed into the stuffy bus for an even longer bus ride because, of course, it started raining so hard that we had to pull over because the driver couldn’t see. By the time we came back, all I could think of was a shower and a 12 hour nap. And that’s exactly what I did:)

Also worth mentioning, take note of The Three Stooges…we had to deal with them and their craziness all day -.-

Journalism Fieldtrip to Cincinnati! Headed over to the Cincy Art Museum for the day. Meghan says hello!

Bright and early, we packed into a bus and headed over to Cincy! Although the travel time was 5 hours total there and back, and it was a fun trip, I can’t say that it was really worth it haha oops :P We’re in Journalism, right? How is going to an art museum related? Granted, we will be writing articles about several pieces of art but we also had the option to go to a news station and Lynn chose the museum…how does that make sense? Oh well, at least we were out of the classroom and off campus! :)

One good thing that came out of the long bus ride though was I started and almost finished a new book! I’m reading A Separate Peace by John Knowles and it’s interesting so far! Funny thing is, the boarding school he talks about in the novel (Devon) is actually modeled after the school he actually attended and the one I applied to! It’s Exeter up in New Hampshire and I find it really funny that its such a coincidence :)

Once we for back, we went straight to practice for showcase and afterwards, I was feeling really sluggish, so Hannah and I went running. It was all good and fun for the first mile…until it started raining. I mean pouring. raining. Yay. We still finalized the second mile and a half but man, we were soaked and dripping by the time we got back to the dorms! Did we get some looks though haha ;)
The rest of the night was spent in the dorm (we missed dinner because we were running) and we ate dinner while watching the season 2 finale of The Walking Dead. I couldn’t even speak after it was over…my mind is still blown. We’re going to practice the dance tonight too and then it is immediately off to bed for me because I, lucky girl that I am, will be getting up at 5 for my second trip to Cincinnati. Woo! -.- Oh well, it should still be really fun, if you ignore how early I’ll be getting up haha!
