12.10.2013// A Brief NaNoWriMo Update
So, this is a week and three days late but better late than never! November ended a short while ago and with that, so did my time frame for NaNoWriMo. For those who happened to miss my first post about this project, during the month of November, I undertook the task of writing a novel. Phew, when I put it that way, it sounds so intimidating. A friend told me about the National Novel Writing Month and I figured, why not make writing my first novel one of my 17 Experiences. So, I went for it.

Now, for the actual update part. Unfortunately, I was unable to reach my goal of 50,000 words by the end of November...I know, I'm disappointed in myself as well. To be honest, it was a bit overwhelming. Between writing the novel, juggling school, extracurriculars, family, and friends, a month was just not sufficient time for me to hash out a novel.

However I did get nearly 16,000 words! In the grand scheme of things compared to 50,000 it's not much, but for me, I still consider it quite an accomplishment. And this doesn't mean that I'm giving up on my novel! Heck no. I've become far too invested in my characters for that haha. It just means that instead of finishing my novel in month, I'll just graciously extend my deadline until the end of the school year;) Now that the semester is winding down and college applications are almost out the way, I'm hoping that I'll have plenty of free time to dedicate to this project.

So that was that, and although I'm upset I didn't achieve my initial goal, the overall goal of finishing this novel is not yet lost:)
