12.10.2013// Pretend Actors for a Day
Oh man, look at us...aren't we just straight out of the 1890's? All that sass, boy, you can't fake that kind of stuff. Today in our English Lit class, we got all fancy in our spiffy get-up and acted out a scene from The Importance of Being Earnest. I mean, I thought I was pretty cool in my huge floppy hat, but then again Jared went all out in his 3-piece suit and hat. Too bad he forgot his pocket watch!
This well-known Oscar Wilde play follows the lives of several characters but mainly two friends (in our case, the two dapper gentlemen on either side) as they use the same pseudonym, "Ernest", for their on-the-sly activities. All is fine until they both fall in love with women using that name, leading to a hysterical case of mistaken identity as the characters attempt to unravel who interconnected their lives actually are. Hilarity ensues.
We had far too much filming our scenes, and you better believe we went all out. Watch out for us actors-for-a-day in a city near you soon. I'm sure after we post our scenes to Youtube that we will for sure get scouted, we just ooze theatrical talent. And then before you know it, we'll be touring the country performing this play;)
