8.14.2013// Last First Day of School
So, call me crazy, but I’m one of those people that actually enjoys going into school after summer. All that excitement to see every one, begin a new year, it really gets me pumped. this year is even better because a) it’s senior year b) I get to drive myself c) I’ve been gone all summer d) I get to leave school early everyday and e) did I mention it’s senior year, baby?! That is why from the moment I walked into school today, I was bouncing off the walls crazy and hugging people.

My schedule for this year absolutely rocks! I’m super excited to get started because we are going to be taking some awesome field trips and doing some awesome things - plus a friend and I have some plans for some new clubs which should also be great. Hopefully I have time for everything!

My classes this year (besides core content classes) include an independent study, 2 mentoring classes, Sociology, Environmental Science, and Art History. All of them seem super fun, except I think I am most excited about is Art History because I love both those subjects, I love the teacher AND because he arranged a trip to NYC for us!!! He said, and these are his words, that someone cannot study Art History without visiting NYC art museums. So needless to say, I’m super pumped. My AP Calc teacher is a little intimidating, she talks incredibly fast, but she seems very sweet. My English teacher this year was supposed to be a man but he switched jobs, so now it is my ex-best-friend’s mom…it was a little awkward in class but I think she still likes me. plus, I spoke to her daughter today after what has been probably a year and it was perfectly fine - hopefully, if we can’t be friends, we can at least be polite and civil towards each other.

Even though it was only the first day, I already have homework and several quizzes/assessments scheduled -.- However, I am not too worried about them. I have to say though, the best part of the entire day was getting to leave school an hour earl before every one else. 5th hour ended and I just walked right on out of the building. I felt so independent; I loved it! Once home, I finished my homework and then got some coffee and fruit and relaxed on the porch with a nice book. Hopefully everyday is as stress free as this one!

Weird Coincidence: one of the kids who went to NSLC San Fran with me, there were 3 total from my town, one of them was  a guy named Jess. He goes to a private school in town, but surely enough, I walk in to my school today and he’s the new kid?! It was too weird and when people asked me if I knew him, they were surprised when I said I was in SF with him.
8.13.2013// Alas, No More Freedom
Sadly, the summer is drawing to a close and school is beginning. With the first day of school tomorrow, I am both excited and nervous. Excited because I get to see everyone once again, because I get to ride my scooter to school and because I’m one of those people who actually likes school supplies and packing their lunch. But also nervous because it is the last year of my high school career. Ever. No repeats. Don’t mess it up, Lusi. My schedule is awesome and I expect a year with great things in store!

It’s Senior Year, Baby!
