2.10.2014// When in Mexico - Day 4
Ah. My body. The pain. It pains. The burning has gotten worse, I repeat the burning is now worse. I'm no longer just a lobster - try a lobster, boiled twice over, then fried to a crisp. Times two. That's me right now.

Today was much the same - breakfast, beach, lunch, adventure, dinner. However, the waves were crazy rough and the wind was out of control today so the beach wasn't as pleasant as yesterday. We spent most of our time reading or just enjoying the sun (you know, when it decided to grace us with it's presence and emerge from out behind the clouds.)

For lunch we went to this small cabana/hut that served the best quesadillas and tacos....mmmh and chips and queso and guac and salsa. Seriously, the quality of the food here has blown me away and left me speechless. We also crashed yet another wedding! And funnily enough, it was also Indian, just like yesterday's - what are the odds of that happening haha. Seeing all these weddings and receptions is causing my urge to boogie to come back with a vengeance.

After lunch and the beach, we ventured back into downtown so mom could keep hunting for souvenirs. All I can say is boy, those vendors sure are relentless. They don't even give you a chance to breathe or even say no - they may be bad, but I do have to give them credit for being good at their job.

We had another dinner/show tonight and it was beyond hysterical, much more impressive than the first. It was Caribbean night so for entertainment they had dancers perform traditional Caribbean dances in costumes. And they were phenomenal! Made me wish I could move like they did. But! that wasn't even the best part. When the professionals were done, the host asked for four males to come up on stage - he wanted to test them and see if they had actually been paying attention to the dances or if they were just watching the girls shake. A valid question. Their task was to reenact the dances they had just supposedly been watching. There were two older gentlemen, one younger boy (you know, the typical muscular 'pretty' boy that all the girls, except myself, swooned for as soon as he stepped up on stage) and my personal favorite, this tall lanky Indian who couldn't have been more than twenty-something and was from New York (I mean, it's very easy to see why he was my favorite, and this was even before he started dancing! The host made them tango and salsa and it was one of the most entertaining experiences I've ever seen, and I honestly don't think that's an exaggeration. Except...grrr... I can still feel the anger. Once it came to be 'pretty boy's turn, he barely even moved and instead just stood there awkwardly and he still got cheers. And not just from the crowd where we were sitting! Oh no, there were girls cheering from their balconies from the floors that overlooked the stage! I was not amused, he didn't even try -.- Everybody knew my favorite was the clear winner in that competition.
The professionals finishing up their performance

It's been long since I've laughed that hard, at anything really, and my mind has been this clear. It's a relief and so relaxing - I hope it lasts.
