clearly, this picture was taken prior to my going out for the day - i'm actually cheery and smiling vs. dead from exhaustion. which i very well was after the many errands i had to run today. do not be fooled, i look nothing like this at the end of a long day (no matter how hard i may try)
Today was crazy. Let's see - I was up early this morning (which a person should never have to do on a Sunday) to work on some art history. Afterwards, I had a meeting scheduled with my mentee to help her with some physics web homework, though naturally we talked more than we worked. But that we can blame on the fact that the cafe where we were working only allows thirty minute wifi sessions, so after our time ran out what else were we to do besides talk? Following physics, I met some friends downtown for lunch at this local restaurant where we had the absolute best black bean burgers with blue cheese I've ever had, Seriously, I could rave about these things for days. And last but not least, I volunteered to babysit some kids with a friend for a church while they had their night service which lasted for a couple of hours. Nothing strenuous, but nonetheless exhausting. However, there was that incredibly gratifying break in between lunch and babysitting which was composed of my friend and I, bellies full and in food comas, practically collapsed on her bed and watched half of a cheesy rom-com about the daughter of the President and her adventures in dating. It's been a long Sunday, but I feel accomplished and ready for what this week will bring.
