Third day in and everything was going swimmingly (no pun intended...maybe). The weather cleared, early morning breakfasts were enjoyed poolside in the sun with fresh coffee, the ocean water was warm, and the sun hot.
Today was spent perpetually at the beach and, regardless of the fact that I burned even more, I regret absolutely nothing. I am now officially a lobster - no shame. Its been an incredibly relaxing day, one of those where you don't do much, except at the end of the day you're still completely wiped and can't wait to collapse in bed. I finished the first of my two books I brought with me, so tomorrow I'm starting The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan which I've heard raving reviews about. I have also spent a majority of the day snapchatting and posting pictures to instagram (thank you hotel wifi for reaching the beach) and I do believe I am sufficiently annoying my friends back in freezing Kentucky, or at least that's the impression I'm getting thanks to the comments they keep posting haha.
Tonight we had reservations to the resort's fanciest restaurant, Da Vinci, and I have to say it lived up to our expectations (which were fairly high!) The decor inside was heavy, but in a classic Renaissance type of way and the food was exquisite. Also! There's a wedding going on at the resort and it has made me incredibly giddy! I'm a sap when it comes to these kinds of events. The real shame is I've never actually attended a wedding before...but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate them! We saw the couple taking their pictures by the beach today and later on we got to witness their ceremony and even the reception. They made such a beautiful couple. Much luck to them!
If only I could have partaken in the dancing at the reception...then it would have been a real party.
Today was one of the most relaxing days I've had in an incredibly long time - if only all of my days could be like this one.
