On Friday, a celebration was necessary in order to take advantage of my newly acquired status as driver *insert cool sunglasses smiley face emoji here* That's right, nothing but two rebel girls, out on the town, getting what else but coffee at the French bakery on a Friday night. We sure know how to party. I mean, we even drank the coffee out of bowls. Downright blasphemous. But before you get in a tizzy, we did wear our seat belts - I mean we may drink coffee out of bowls instead of cups, but we don't have a death wish. (disclaimer: Sophia made me swear that if I use the top left picture that I would mention that she does not always look bald. that is all.) Post leisurely coffee break, we drove back to Sophia's where we hung out for the rest of the night doing a variety of things including eating French cheese and bread which we got for free from the bakery. It really has been a great week - there were so many little things throughout the week that made it great, then I got my license, then I got free bread. It doesn't get better than that. I ended up leaving Soph's later in the night, around 10, and although it's not really that big of a deal, boy does it feel good being independent and staying out as late as I want, leaving and going wherever and whenever I want...freedom is sweet.
On Saturday, mom and I took yet another day trip to Cincinnati, but this time we had a mission. (By now, every time I tell people that I'm going to Cincinnati they're not even amused - it's expected of me to go at least twice a month. Oops. But at least that is a reputation I can live with haha.) Two weeks ago we had bought a new table from IKEA (which was great, I loved it) but then one week ago, I spilled water on it....and I missed a couple spots when I was cleaning it up...and thus the veneer got ruined. Of course, just my luck. So our mission was to return said table, and purchase things for our old official dining room which we plan to turn into a 'reading room.' Sounds lame but trust me, mom let me take charge of decorating so by any means I will make that room the coolest too in the entire house. If you look at the pictures above, it's pretty obvious that we ~may~ have overdone it. Just maybe. We had to rent a huge Ford Expedition that's probably three times the size of our regular car just to fit everything, and even with all the seats down it was still a tight squeeze. We bought three bookcases, a coffee table, a couch, two rugs, another shelving unit and an assortment of small things. We spent all of Sunday assembling the furniture and the room is almost done! We only have one bookshelf left to build, two glass doors to attach to said bookshelf, and then just filling in the empty spaces with our things and we'll be done! As soon it's all finished, I'll be sure to show you guys my grand masterpiece. Even now when the room is only partially done I keep thinking to myself 'dang, maybe I was meant to go into interior design, not english.'
Enjoy your week!
Lusi
