The best surprise is waking up to a quiet city, peacefully covered in snow, and school cancelled - all on a Friday. I have a feeling today will be one great day. With the roads iced over, and the fireplace roaring, I have next to no intentions of moving from the comfortable little hole I've made for myself in-between my thirty-thousand pillows.
Going back to school after a two-week break felt odd, like we shouldn't be forced to sit around in school when there are so many other things to do. But, 'education is important' and 'it prepares for the real world' yeah yeah, we get it. I think it's just my inner-rebellious-I'm-ready-to-go-to-college-and-be-independent that's coming out haha. Only five months and that will actually be true... it's kind of insane to think about.
Regardless, going back to school was also comforting in a way - like slipping into a routine. The routine of getting up at a certain time, seeing the same faces every day, doing the same things, on a careful schedule - it's like clockwork. But I do have to say, even though we've only been back one day, I'm already set to go for another break!
