7.27.2013// The Glitz
So there’s this quaint little restaurant we like to frequent called The Glitz. It’s not to far from home and it’s in the cutest town called Nonesuch, because frankly, there’s nonesuch better place than there. The restaurant is on the ground floor of an old elementary school, closed since 1981, turned antique gallery. The 2 owners who purchased the school and turned it into the gallery and restaurant filled the entire place to the brim with unique treasures and collectibles - everything inside the gallery is for sale. The place is called Irish Acres Gallery and all the workers there are beyond nice. Basically, it’s one of those places everyone should go at least once in their life.

Walking in, you feel like you’ve entered a fairy tale land. First of all, it smells absolutely heavenly. Then, even if the decor is a little over the top, it’s all part of the experience. It feels as if you’re getting away from it all for a couple hours. And boy, after working on AP Calculus and AP Art History homework this morning, I really did need to get away from it all! Going to the restaurant, there is already a set price and from the menu, you have a choice between, several appetizers, several entrees, and several desserts. The portions are not large, but with 3 different things, a person fills up quickly with delicious food!

Appetizer: Roasted Tomato Soup with a Parmesan Crisp

Entree: Kentucky Cobb Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing

Dessert: Blackberry Shortcake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

After our stomachs were filled with such a delicious and decadent meal, we meandered about the store, I was lucky enough to find myself a pair of earrings that I treated myself to, and then we were off. The rest of the day was spent doing some work around the house, more school work, and ending the night with an episode of Modern Family with the family. Savoring the few Saturdays I have left before school starts up again!
