7.28.2013// Scooting Around

Today was a whole bunch of nothing. I have never particularly liked Sundays - they’re too rushed. They’re this in-between type of happiness that leaves you more sad than anything else. You see, they’re not Saturdays where you feel as if you have the whole weekend ahead of you to whatever you please and you have this abundance of time that you never can imagine possibly filling. And then they’re not Mondays, because nothing can suck as much as Mondays. But Sundays, Sundays are slowly climbing up the ranks of things I’m slowly beginning to dislike with a burning passion. From the moment you wake up on a Sunday, you feel rushed. These are your last 24 hours before work/school start up again and you’ve got to make them count. That’s just o much pressure. And then, you end up planning to many things in and trying to fit in too many activities to make it seem as if your weekend has been worthwhile and in most cases, you don’t end up doing anything. Just like I did today. Because there’s always some other chore that pops up that needs to get done around the house before the new week starts, like vacuuming, that just sucks up your entire day. Pun entirely intended. With that sad, I really don’t like Sundays.

Mine was spent on housework and schoolwork. Neither of which provides even an inkling of entertainment. The only upside is I am one step closer to finishing my homework and I am almost complete with my huuuge Art History timeline we needed to make for class. I do have to say though, even though my day as a whole was a bust, there was one awesome part to it which was the fact that I got to take my Vespa scooter out for a ride for the first time! Granted, I had driven it around in my neighborhood, but never on big streets before! If it hadn’t been so freezing, I could have kept riding all night! I took a practice run of the route I will take for school come August and it’s not bad at all. A little intimidating next to huge trucks but that was to be expected with a scooter. :)

I would also just like to take a second a appreciate how Huckleberry Finn-esque I felt today in my straw hat. If only I wasn’t missing a raft to float down the Mississippi River with ;)

P.S. Never ever, in your right mind, decide that it’s a good idea to pour the hot wax from your candle warmer down the drain. It makes parents very angry. And it makes you look incredibly stupid. Those are my words of wisdom for the night - take them to heart before you too look like an idiot.
