I haven't posted much lately, but that's just because I have been so wrapped up in getting everything in order to launch the new site and with just other regular demands. I promise I'll be more active from now on:) Also, there have been some bigger changes to the blog. I've been debating expanding the content for a long time, and I've finally decided to go for it because, well, why not! So, up top by the original '17 by 17' page, I have now added my first addition, 'Book Club'. Because I'm such an avid reader (my record is an 800 page book in 3 hours...yeah, I know...) I figured, why not talk about the books I read and keep a running list of what I've read and my likes and dislikes. This was also inspired by the fact that recently, two friends and I have been obsessed with giving each other our favorite series to read and then talking about them over coffee dates. Since we do it anyways, we might as well make it official!:) So that's the first of, hopefully, several other additions. We'll see, if that one gains traction, I won't hesitate to expand!
As for the 'Revolution' part of this blog post, I guess you could say the new blog is a a revolution of sorts?! But, what I meant was a more literal revolution in that today I got to take a trip to see Les Mis performed by the UK Theatre.
There were several things about this performance... First of all, we missed the first 4 hours of class, so that's always a bonus! (Also, watching cute actors will forever be a bonus in my book...) But then, we were told the performance would be abridged (the full show is ~3hours) and so we were prepared to miss a couple scenes. But oh no, we didn't get just an abridged version of the show, we got an abridged first act. Meaning, those people who had never seen the movie or read the book (ME!) had absolutely no clue what was going. There was far too much background information skipped that it seemed a little pointless to go, just to see half of the first act. Otherwise, the show itself was exciting! Young Cosette blew me away (she was only 11!) and the actress for Eponine was phenomenal! It was a good show, but I feel as if we left unimpressed because it was cut short. When they dropped the curtain, everybody actually hesitated in clapping and didn't stand up, just because nobody thought that that was the end... A friend went to the actual showing last night and said in full, it was amazing, so hey! Thats gotta count for something!
Currently, I'm sitting in Panera with a friend and we are working on all the homework we missed today while we were at the play over dinner. However, its mainly been 30% homework and 70% gossip...but then again, that's always expected when girls get together so no one can blame us! It's not our fault that neither of us understands Calculus haha. While she's working on that among other things, I'm over here working on the prologue of my book and starting to write the fourth chapter. Maybe once it's done, that can be something else I add to the blog!
