Junior year is over! I can’t believe how quickly it actually came -
it seems as if just yesterday the school was starting and I was meeting
all my teachers. Now, I get to officially call myself a senior, an
upperclassmen - holy crap, that’s too terrifying to think about. Today, I
had my last of only two finals. The only two classes in which I was
worried about my grade were math and physics. This year, my coursework
really was abit wild. Luckily, I was able to plan out my scedule fr next
year ad the way it’s arranged right now, I shouldn’t be too stressed
out next year ;) I’m happy to say that I scraped by with all A’s once
agin this year and my streak of all A’s in high school was not broken!
In physics Thursday, I summoned my alter-ego Lusi 2.0 who kicks but in
science/math skills and I managed a 95% on the final leaving me with a
96% total in the class! Woo! In math however, I was not so lucky, BUT,
with everything in the grade book, I still managed a 91.61% in the class
which technically rounds up to a 92% A! The streak lives on!
To continue celebrating, mom picked me to engage in our favorite
pastime and go window shopping. With coffee picked up, we were
caffeine-ed up just the right amount to spend a couple mindless hours
just walking around, talking, and trying things on.I can say without a
doubt that mom is my best friend and the easiest person to spend time
with. We hit up all the classics - the Gap, Anthropologie, the mall, and
of course, Whole Foods. The last was by far my favorite of them all! ;)
Nothing bought, but a good time spent.
To continue celebrating, we decided to hit up a restaurant for dinner
and we finally settled on a little Japanese and French bistro over by
our house. Its the perfect size and since not many people know about it,
it’s always quiet and relaxing. Plus, it helped that we had a coupon ;)
The ambiance in that place is killer and you will not be able to find
it in any other restaurant! The rotating sushi conveyor also helps
contribute to the cool factor. We started off with Edamame and Plum and
Squid Rolls…we were trying to be adventurous, not the best idea we had
today. Then, we ordered the “Tendon”, which stood fro a rice bowl
featuring egg and shrimp and vegetable tempura. Pictures to come in a
separate post! An awesome night made even more awesome by the fact that I
drove to-and-back from the restaurant! I’m getting better at this
adult-ing thing everyday, eh?
On a side note: I received my session information from Governor’s
Scholar’s Program today! I will be heading out to Morehead State on June
16th and will be staying fro 5 weeks. I was placed in the focus area of
Journalism and Mass Media. I’m not entirely ecstatic about that
considering I had my heart set on attending the Creative Writing and
Literary Studies session and also because in August, I will be going to
Berkeley for exactly a Journalism and Mass Media 2 week college camp.
Perhaps I will be able to switch sessions, at least hopefully because I
truly would be more interested in the other discipline. But, if not, I
will still have an amazing time and regardless of what happens, I am
incredibly grateful for being selected as a GSP scholar!
This summer will be filled with amazing experiences, I can already
tell! Plus, there’s a bright, full moon outside right now - that’s got
to count for some good luck, right?!
