Even though it’s belated, Happy Birthday Isabelle!
Today after school, a friend came home with me and we were supposed to babysit but the mom was home and prepping for the birthday party so we had some time to catch up before we went back! We gossiped about anything and everything including school drama and fictional characters;)
Anyway, on to the party! We had a blast! It was Harry Potter so after an obstacle course, we of course had to play Quidditch! I was chosen as the snitch which obviously included a lot of running…boy, were my legs ready to fall off! And, the seekers cornered me so I had nowhere to run and they snuck up on me! Those girls were sneaky, a little too good if you ask me haha. the next activity we did after eating was making ice cream. We filled baggies with milk and vanilla and sugar, and then put them in a bigger bag with ice cream ice and then we had the kids toss the bag back and forth (fingers freezing off in the process) Lastly, we did the cake and then opened presents. Isabelle is obsessed (and I don’t use that term lightly) with Harry Potter but even I was jealous when she got Luna Lovegood’s wand AND a sorting hat! I did, however, get to hold the wand AND try on the sorting hat, so it even outed the playing field (just a little though.)
The kids were so incredibly energetic and fun, but I am so worn out right now! What made the party even better though was that I got to spend it helping out with a close friend and we got some much-needed quality time with each other. I do not regret spending my Friday night at a 10 year old’s birthday party, and then at home reading. Not the least bit.
Best part? We get to help out next week for his other daughter’s birthday party;)
