5.10.2014// Lately
I would just like to start this off by apologizing for how absent I've been as of lately!! It's been one thing after another over here and I haven' found the time to sit down at the computer in a long time. So I figure, today's a good day to do just one big massive catch-all, catch-up picture and info dump post! So here goes, some things that have been going on in the life of Lusi lately:

  • It's been so busy that that Callie and I keep missing our weekly zumba class, which we love going to! Really need to start that up up again once things mellow out..
  • The extent to which Sophia and I match on a daily basis, without planning it might I add(!), is getting out of hand...we matched right down to the shoes and the color of our shirts. Observe below-> We've decided that next year, even though we'll be away at college, we're still going to see if our fashion coordinating telepathy works across the nation and send each other pictures of our daily outfits to see if we match. We'll go all out, make a scrapbook of it.

  • We all celebrated the ten year anniversary of Mean Girls in style. It fell on a Wednesday so of course the school was a sea of pink that day;)

  • After an emotional couple of days, the college decision was made. So lucky to have that stress lifted of my shoulders! Find out what it was here!
  • Sophia and I celebrated my (belated) birthday just a s we would celebrate any other special occasion: with coffee! We went to the French bakery and gossiped over tea and lattes. Plus, she certainly knows how to give gifts!! I only hope she likes mine for her birthday as much as I liked mine!

  • We saw our school's production of Shrek The Musical and it was surprisingly amazing! All of our close friends were in it and I was surprised by how many of my friends could sing! Claps for all of them. The production was hysterical!

we had to document it, obviously. this was before we rallied everyone together to go get celebratory frozen yogurt:)
  • Early Saturday morning, half an hour before regular school would have started, our math class gathered in the empty school for what she called a 'math party.' Basically, we worked on math for four hours straight on a Saturday morning. At least we had bagels.
  • I'M FINALLY DONE WITH AP TESTS!!!! I took three in a row - Art History, Calculus, and English Lit - but I am done! No more for me! I thought Art History would be the easiest one for me because I had prepared the most, but it was surprisingly hard. The multiple choice was a synch, but the essays were a little rough. I knew Calculus would be difficult so that doesn't surprise me haha. And I thought Lit would be my hardest one but I walked out of there feeling the most confident much to my surprise. But regardless, they are behind me! Now, I can do nothing for the rest of the year and it is an amazing feeling:)
  • Sophia and I were filmed while we were having lunch one day and we were on the news. I talked about how the sandwich I was eating reminded me of Bulgaria. That's right, we're basically famous now.
  • If you though I was lying about the fact that I'm pretty much done with school, let me just tell you how Friday went: first hour, we had four people in there and we just talked; second hour - sub and a movie; third hour - movie and talked; fourth hour - listened to pandora and talked; fifth hour - sub and we watched tv. This is how the rest of the year will be.
  • We had our Mentoring Project showcase on Thursday and it went incredibly well! All of us in the Academy made boards to represent our projects and we set up the cafeteria like a museum so everybody could walk around. And then each student gave a little speech about what they did/what they learnt and all of our parents/friends/mentors were there to clap for us. Not o mention, there was free food sooooo...... Best moment of the night: one of our friends was finishing up his speech and without realizing what he was saying he goes, "and I'd like to thank the Academy," and he couldn't figure out for the life of him why were laughing so hard!
  • Friday our Art History teacher invited us to a banquet to honor this years inductees for Henry Clay's Hall of Fame. We took it as an opportunity, not only to honor the inductees, but also to get fancy and hang out with our favorite teach. At one point the principal asked all of the current Henry Clay teachers to stand and for us to clap for them and I swear, our table was the loudest. We probably embarrassed him but we just wanted to let him know how much we appreciate him, not just for inviting us but also for being an amazing teacher.

  • Sophia got me obsessed with at least five new channels on youtube and now the bags under my eyes are suffering as a result.
  • I keep pinning waaay too many things for my dorm room, but I am just so hyped to get to decorate it that I want to start now!
  • Today, Davis and I met up with our mentee to help her study for her US History AP Test on Wednesday and after reviewing for a good two hours, we let Davis leave and then she and I stayed an extra 45 minutes just gossiping. And that is usually how all of our meetings go haha.
  • I also attended Sophia's dad's annual Philosophy department kegger that they have each year (he's a philosophy teacher) and let me tell you, those never disappoint! Sophia and I always make a night out of it, and we always rack up plenty of a+ quotes from all the drunk philosophers to share with everyone on Monday;)
  • And now, the BEST news, what this entire post has been building up to.....drum roll please...... my extended family is finally here from Bulgaria! This has been a long time coming and finally, last night at 9:30 my aunt, uncle, baby cousin, and grandma finally made it! This was my grandma's first time on a plane and her first visit to the states so it's all very new and exciting:) I'm so happy and thankful to have them here with me for my graduation! Couldn't have asked for a better present.
This has been a glimpse into my life.
That is all, folks!
Lukova, out.
