3.29.2014// When in Florida - Day 1
After 12 long hours in the car, one overnight stay in Atlanta, and much too long on the road with just boys, we have arrived at Orange Lake Resort in Florida. We (myself, Davis, Freddie, and Davis' father) got here at about 1pm and were greeted with a torrential downpour. Worn out, we found some food and sought refuge from the rain. After our bellies were sufficiently happy, we headed back to our condo and relaxed for the rest of the night. We made a trip to the pools, then headed back for dinner and some much needed tv/relaxation time. Then we proceeded to play what is to go down in history as the most amazing poker game of all time. We played the four of us for a good three hours and during that time we discovered that Davis looks like Brian from The Breakfast Club and that the boys underestimated my ability to play poker because I kicked their butts! First I got Davis out, Freddie followed suit shortly after, and then it was down to just me and Davis' father. My hands were good, his not so much. I was winning, I had him, and then on the last hand I got cocky. I knew he was bluffing, he probably knew I was bluffing too, but I figured 'hey, I have a queen, I could still beat him if neither of us gets a pair.' So we went all in. An lo-and-behold he pulls out an ace from nowhere and beat me at the last minute. I did not see it coming, I had been so sure I would have beaten the boys, but good game Davis' father. good game. After our insanely long poker game it was around 1am and too hyped from playing, we obviously weren't ready for sleep so we headed out for hot tub round 2. Before we knew it it was 3 am, we'd made new friends with these guys from Michigan and were on the brink of getting kicked out of the swimming area (because it closes at 10pm.) I can easily call day 1 of spring break a success.
blurry photos c/o of google because I didn't get a chance to snap any myself. my apologies!
