This past week my butt has been plastered to the same chair in the corner of my favorite coffee shop downtown. I was there Monday after school. I went Tuesday after volunteering. Wednesday I was there after school yet again. Even know, take a shot in the dark and guess where I'm writing this from...
That's right, the very same corner. I'm addicted, and there's no going back. I blame it on the lattes -- I swear they have the best soy lattes in town and there is a very high chance that I will be broke by the end of the semester because I'll have spent all my money here. Oh well, like they say, life is too short to drink crap coffee! They also have this thing they do where every time you bing back one of the paper sleeves they put around the coffee cups back, they'll deduct five cents from your drink. I've gotten into the habit of stashing all my paper sleeves in the car now that I've subconsciously decided that it is my duty to singlehandedly fund Lexington's coffee franchise. Let me tell you, I'm well on my way to collecting enough sleeves to one day get my latte for free. The day will come my friends, just you wait.
It's been hectic around here, and that's not even an exaggeration. That also explains why I've been so m.i.a. on the blogoshpere this week. When I haven't been going to school, I've been babysitting. When I haven't been babysitting, I've been going to meetings or volunteering. When I haven't been doing that, I have been working on my book which I am sad to say has been sorely neglected. But not anymore! After my 5 month hiatus, I'm back at it (and thank god for that because after re-reading my first chapter...oh boy, I was in dire need of spell check.) In fact, I stayed home from school today to work on it. That, and get some much needed r+r and keep my streak of not having been to school for a full week thus far. Three months and still going strong! I plan on keeping this up till I graduate;)
I was supposed to babysit twice this weekend, but apparently someone really didn't want me to babysit because they were both cancelled. Oh well haha just leaves more free time for me. In fact, that's exactly what I did Saturday -- I neglected all of my responsibilities and instead of babysitting, I hung out with a couple of friends and then we went and got coffee (duh, it's me.)
It was lots of laughing, walking around, and gossiping (again duh, it's me) and the best part was that it was sunny and warm outside. I always love hanging out with these guys. We never run out of things to say and we always have a blast. Driving back with Callie, we had our windows rolled down and we were belting out the soundtrack to Moulin Rouge. Not a bad alternative to watching kids if you as me haha. Later that night, the family and I went to a party for a family friend and we didn't end up going home until at least 1 a.m. which makes for one very sleep deprived Lusi. Especially when she's got a jam-packed Sunday! Also, now that I can drive my parents are becoming much more lax an they've appointed me as their permanent designate driver. Thanks parents -.- However, I have now now taught them not only the proper music to listen to, but the correct way to listen to it. I've done well in my part in educating the older generation on our modern ways;)
(Here's to hoping they don't read this because they'll probably get cranky that I called them the 'older generation' haha oops.)
((I love you guys.))
(((Please don't take the car away)))
