When in doubt, it's never a wrong time to take countless selfies. It's my go-to whenever I'm trying to cure boredom;) As the year winds down, it's also a given that it becomes a little chaotic. Add that on top of regular every day activities and stress does not do wonders for me.
Finals are coming up faster than I ever would have expected them too. Luckily, my hardest one is my last one so I have plenty of time to study/procrastinate. It's a little crazy to think that in one week and two days, my first semester of my final year will be over...I don't know if I'm ready for that...
I supposed to go to the Animal Collective concert on Thursday which I was so beyond pumped for. We had everything planned: Lukas was going to drive up and take Harris and I, I was going to buy the tickets online and they were going to pay me back, and we were going to stop and get dinner beforehand. It was a perfect bonding evening. Seriously, I was prepared to the T for the night, and all of us were ready. And then, well, then it started raining freezing rain. And the parents freaked out and put their foot down; in the end, we weren't allowed to drive to the concert (because it was an hour and a half away) because of the road conditions. The worst part was that the freezing rain and the icy roads, all of that was a potential forecast THAT DIDN'T END UP HAPPENING. Oh, I was flaming.
Out of sheer luck (which usually avoids me like the plague) I didn't have to babysit a single time this week. On Wednesday, Eloise had girl scouts. On Thursday, Eloise had a playdate and Isabelle had a mandatory choir concert so I didn't have to drive her to her violin lesson. And on Friday, the momma was home once Eloise and I got home from the bus stop. That is why I gladly accepted an invitation out to dinner on Friday.
Mom and I headed to a friends house to a party to send off their parents who had come to visit for 6 months. It was a much needed night of good food, friends, and conversation. I got to see one of my friends whom I hadn't spoken to in what seemed like forever and he and I had a heart-to-heart about life. I hadn't realized how much I had missed seeing him (we used to hang out with a couple other friends every weekend before life got hectic) Then, we proceeded to play ping pong the rest of the night (even if he won't admit it, I so whooped him).
Saturday's are my college days, usually with Sophia. So, in keeping with tradition, that is exactly how this Saturday went. Good thing I had gotten an essay written before we met up because once we convened in one of my favorite coffeeshops, hot drinks in hand, we got completely sidetracked and started blabbering about anything and everything. For 2 hours. And barely colleged at all. Oops! And apparently, I also really like poetry slams and dark places because after chatting, we realized that around us people were gathering for the first installment of a new poetry reading.
We stayed for the first poet, but it was incredibly crowded and we decided to duck out early. We went back to her house where we hopelessly tried to order pad thai but alas, the two places we called were both closed. So we just scavenged in her kitchen, managed to rustle up a meal in no time and then ate it as we watched The Mindy Project. Man, Sophia and I sure know how to get work done when we're together;)
That pretty much sums up whats been going on since the last time I was on here. Nothing to radically exciting, but hopefully as soon as break starts I'll have a lot more things to write about! Until later.
