After working my butt off this morning on college applications, I deserved a little break. That’s why, even though my supposed-to-be-650-word-essay was actually 968, I still went out and had some fun. One of my close friends came back from Bulgaria after being gone for 2 1/2 months this past Wednesday and we had some catching up to do. He invited another friend and myself for our usual weekend dinner and a movie. I had forgotten how much fun these guys are! WE talked about the most random things, but we always have a good time together. An we always end up laughing till our stomachs hurt! Afterwards, our movie of choice was the new Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Now, I had heard mixed reviews about this and didn’t know what to think. People and reviews said the movie kinda blew, but the books were outstanding, and I watched an interview with the author and she made the plot line seem incredibly interesting. The verdict: I loved it! Though I cant ‘say the same for the guys. Besides the creepy undertones (those who have seen it will know what I mean, I don’t want to spoil it) I thought the story was genuinely well developed. However, the movie itself could have spent more time on actually clarifying the motives behind everything that was happening because I felt as if I missed some things that I otherwise would have understood had I read the book…I guess I know what I’m reading next!

The other exciting part o my day was, before I went out with the guys, I took a trip to the fabric store to pick up some things for a couple projects i have in mind. And I picked up these gems! Here I have fabric for a jean refashion, a long sleeve tee, and a light knit sweater, all for under $15! What a steal:) Currently working on ripping up a pair of old jeans…all in the name of fashion, of course;)
