2.07.2014// Happy 18th Birthday, Annie!
the birthday girl in Anna from Frozen's costume (for ages 3+) what a princess.

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating our dear Annie's 18th birthday! You're a full-fledged adult Annie! Congratulations! You beat me to it, you butt. In her honor, we threw the gosh darned best princess party this side of Kentucky has ever seen. We were incredibly sophisticated, let me tell you. We had finger sandwiches, mini quiches, a make-and-decorate-your-own-cupcake station, and we even had chocolate fondue to top the night off.

There was music, and dancing, and laughing, and we even had a henna artist come in and do henna on the birthday girl (you can see some of it on her hands in the picture where she's blowing out the candles.) And of course we had to have cake in order to be able to ceremonially blow out 18th candles!

the whole gang - plus or minus a few

Please enjoy the crappy quality of my iPhone pictures - there was no time for actual photos with an actual camera.

Annie - you are an absolute doll and I am so lucky I get to call you a friend of mine! I hope your day has been filled with much love and joy and happiness! Know that all of us treasure your friendship and wish only the best for you. Even though you are going to Tennessee next year, and I'm going god-knows-where, I hope we never lose touch (I know that everyone says it but diggity darn I'm going to make sure we stay in contact!) We love you, dear! Good luck in all of your future endeavors! But just remember, you're legal now so don't go too crazy with your endeavors;)

6.14.2013// Happy 21st!

Today, as an early celebration, a couple of friends and I headed out for the day! We celebrated a friend’s 21st birthday, low-key style, early because it is unfortunately next week while I will be away at GSP. The four of us packed up the car and headed out!  Although the trip is only 1-1 1/2 hrs, we made it about 3 hrs. Boo-yah for awful navigation skills! Finally, we made it and headed to the first place he wanted to go: the arcade. Not too typical for a 21st, but we had tons of fun laughing and playing. After, we headed out and were lucky enough to find an Italian festival and a mini-carnival! Of course, rides were a must.

Needless to say, ^^that^^ metal death trap was avoided by me! But the others, you known, less violently-thrashing, upside-down-spinning, make-you-want-to-puke ones were definitely fun. After that, we headed back home where we went out to dinner like we usually do and had an overall nice day (minus the several hours we spent hopelessly lost and trying to drive in one way streets). Now, the exhaustion is kicking in.

Newport, you treated us well. And Nik, here’s to your ~early~ 21st! (expect a delayed bday present once I get back!) Hope there are many more to come that we get to celebrate together.
